[XeTeX] Smart quotes in Leopard

This is just using automatic smart quotes. I've given the header I'm  
using below. I don't get smart quotes, or curved apostrophes, though  
on the same MacBook I did in Tiger. I've not modified these files  
since installing Leopard. On my PowerMac G5 at my office, still  
running Tiger, (copies of) these same unmodified files have smart  
quotes, apostrophes, just as before. I'd like to know what I'm doing  
wrong, if anyone can help.   Best, Andy
