[XeTeX] Does it make any sense to specify layout engine in fontname?

It should require very little work; the interface within XeTeX is  
essentially the same as for AAT fonts. There's a similar feature/ 
setting mechanism, etc.

The main difference is that there's no attempt at a registry of  
standard features, so the only useful way to access them is via "raw"  
names as defined by the font itself, as I understand it.

And there are some Graphite fonts, including some for "interesting"  
scripts, on the Graphite Fonts page on scripts.sil.org.
