Have you switched from left-to-right to right-to-left writing? I.e.
are you using ``\beginR some text´´ or {\beginR* some text \endR}? In
this case you would also need to set \TeXXeTstate=1 in the preamble,
i.e. before \begin{document}.
The font loading command does not switch writing direction, it only
helps to choose the right glyphs from inside the font.
