[XeTeX] SVG support?

Does XeTeX, or better \XeTeXpicfile support vectorgraphics like SVG
(because ImageMagick can handle SVG)? Is the only problem for native
SVG support a lacking SVG xdvipdfmx output driver?
Is the only way to add vectorgraphic atm. a SVG->EPS conversion?
Can someone explain me the current situation on that (what types of
vector graphic is supported and how)?

P.S.: The vectorgraphic should be preserved in the output PDF, so
SVG-to-PNG and those don't count.
