[XeTeX] Nested \textit in an italic fontinstance

Oh, I get it.
This is just a side-effect of XeTeX's auto-font identification.
What would you expect to happen trying to find the italic version of  
an already italic font?

In the latest version of fontspec, you can say
   \newfontface\myfont[...]{...}
and no bold or italic fonts will be loaded for that LaTeX font family.
