[XeTeX] Building on Intel Mac

All,

I got the latest SVN revision and tried to do a configure --prefix=/
usr/local/TeXLive, sudo make, sudo make install and got a couple of
errors. First

Makefile:184: *** missing separator (did you mean TAB instead of 8
spaces?). Stop.

Sure enough lines 184 and 186 of the Makefile have 8 spaces instead
of TAB. I edited the Makefile to make these TAB and ran sudo make
again and got

make: *** No rule to make target `libs/teckit/lib/.libs/libTECkit.a',
needed by `all'. Stop.

This is exactly what lines 183 and 184 of the Makefile deal with. I
assume that 185 and 186 have the same issue.

What should I be doing to build? Other source distributions I have
obtained usually have a README and INSTALL that cover such things as
a typical build configure, make, make install and options for
specific platforms, but I did not see these in the source from SVN.

My goal is to install XeTeX and friends with Gerben's TeXLive i-
Package. As of now they only work with his teTeX i-Package. I know
this is short term as things will move to the /usr/local/texlive/year
set up in a few months and XeTeX will be in TeXLive 2006, but it's
the principle of the thing for now.

Any advice.
