[XeTeX] Arabtex fonts with XeTeX

XeTeX can in principle use the PostScript based fonts. The problem is  
that these fonts are not Unicode encoded, so they can't be used in  
XeTeX.

In XeTeX you are not limited to the use of 100 or 200 glyphs a font  
might provide. And you can write in Arabic, as shown in this excerpt  
from a sample file of XeTeX:

الأخرى بعد أن تُعطي رقما معينا لكل  
أساسًا، تتعامل الحواسيب فقط مع  
الأرقام، وتقوم بتخزين الأحرف  
والمحارف كان هناك مئات الأنظمة  
للتشفير وتخصيص هذه الأرقام للمحارف،  
ولم يوجدواحد منها. وقبل اختراع  
يونِكود، فإن الاتحاد الأوروبي لوحده،  
احتوى نظام تشفير واحد يحتوي على جميع

والعلمية الإنجليزية، فإن جدول شفرة  
واحد لم يكف لاستيعاب جميع الأحرف  
وعلامات الشائعة الاستعمال.

\beginR and \endR start or end right-to-left writing. As font you can  
use any font, commercial or free, that has all Arabic glyphs you need.
