[XeTeX] 'Manual' kerning ?

No, sorry; xetex simply aims to render the fonts as specified by  
their designers.

(Well, you could use tex macros to do something at the character  
level, with \kern, etc... but you really don't want to start back  
down that old road. Let's pretend I never even mentioned it.)

This is something that has been considered as a possible enhancement,  
but there is no definite plan at present.
