Hi Henning, I'm not sure if this helps at all, but after I upgaraded XeTeX and LateX to a more recent version I found out that all my additional files, such as styles and the like in the root /texmf were gone. I was glad I had a backup from those files. Maybe you should check whether any of your files are gone awol. I hope I don't miss the point completely here :-) Bernd.
