Neat stuff, Will! Guess I'd better get the XeTeX with extended \char
range released, so that you can shorten the .sty file to almost
nothing. :)
I believe you have a typo on line 316 of the .dtx (the very last line
of the pdf documentation): shouldn't it be stix-tex-plane1.tex here?
