The problem is that you are using ``~´´ in the path name. ``~´´ only
means in shell something different than ~. If you substitute the
tilde with "/Users/<your login name>" it might work better.
It's same as in \include{} etc.: you can't use ~ as proxy or short-
cut for /Users/<your login name>.
