Sorry, my remark wasn't clear, as I used the term Reply-To which may
apply to both the Reply button in your mailer's toolbar, and the
Reply-To field in message headers.

The problem is: mailers recognize threads, I think, based on a
(generally invisible) line such as

	In-reply-to: <8353476e43959d019f6e92c7d4176975 at Web.DE>

in a message header. This line is automatically generated whenever you
create a message by using the Reply button of the toolbar, and remains
present even if afterwards you change manually the message subject in
the Compose window.

Hence, as Peter observed, there are at least two ways to avoid this:

- Always use the Compose button to create a message that doesn't belong
to an existing thread, and drag (for example) the Reply-To address
xetex at tug.org from an existing message into the To field of this new
message.

- Ctrl-Click the Reply-To address of an existing message (at least in
Mail) so as to bring a contextual menu containing a "New message" item.

Organized people manage their addresses using Address Book, I imagine,
which should make the process of entering recipient adresses in new
messages much more straightforward, avoiding copy-and-paste or
drag-and-drop, but I've not reached that level of organization yet and
probably never will ;-)

Hope this helps,
