It's too bad. Even if it's declared like this:

\DeclareFontShape{U}{Manchu}{m}{n}%
   {<-> "Code2000:script=mong"}{}

Code2000 doesn't do anything either. What Thomas and Ross devised works 
fine, but I can't imagine somebody typing an extended text that way. 
Perhaps Xenotype will soon offer a solution.
