I'll probably be able to shake loose a bit of gelt out of my next 
freelance check to do this (but I had been eyeing the upgraded 
Zapfino...) but that's a ways down the road, and will mean I'll only be 
able to run the latest XeTeX at home (can't convince work to upgrade).

It's not like Panther-only is without precedent --- sBook is like that 
as well (version for Jaguar frozen, new versions only for Panther).

YMMV and all that.
