[XeTeX] Extended \font declarations?

Hello to all,

What about an `extended' \font system saying (imaginary syntax to be improved):

\fontrange\whatever="Skia Regular" 32-3000
\fontrange\whatever="STHeiti Light" 10000-15000
\font\myfont=\whatever at 18 pt

The idea is to access every single Unicode character (depending on the
\fontrange definition) without having to explicitly define local font
changes. I don't know if this is a good idea or a technically possible
one. What do you think?
