Really busy here at work, but just wanted to note that the .dfont AAT 
fonts which XeTeX accesses (Zapfino, Skia, Hoefler, et. al.) are not 
OTFs (though Zapfino is available as an OTF from Linotype). Some of the 
foreign language fonts (Japanese) are .otfs though --- perhaps the 
program uses that folder then?

Does the program install any?

You could d/l liz.otf from www.fontlab.com 
(http://www.pyrus.com/downloads/Liz.otf) stuff it into the otf fonts 
folder and see if it comes up when XeTeX queries the system for fonts.
