Another issue of course is the matter that using the system-font
interface places one at the mercy of Apple as regards whether or no
things will work, witness the problem w/ Skia in 10.3.3, and the matter
of .pdfs made w/ this _not_ being viewable in Ghostscript &c.

And of course Apple has been quite cavalier about breaking old documents
by doing things like altering the em-scaling of Zapfino between 10.1 and
10.2 (look up Linotype's pages on Zapfino-Extra for a statement on this)
