I an an amateur user of TeX and after the last surprisingly fractious in-person AGM I realised that there was a difference between a professional software user group and a "historic" software fan club.

Is there room for something more like the latter?

The current arrangements don't seem to be working, The assets of UKTUG are "burning a hole in their pocket" as my grandmother would have said. There are acrimonious clashes over why the money is not being spent or what action should be taken.

If this motion is approved I would help the committee to create a new constitution which restricts the aims of the group to something more realistic.

Something more akin to "maintanance mode", perhaps a yearly meet up, the website, archive

and disc distribution.

It seems a pity to disband altogether.
