I hope difficulties you have with ubuntu and Texlive have been resolved. In general, Joseph tells me to ask on reddit or stackexchange. Support from members not there could be had from the proposed Facebook discussion group. We don't need a constitution and funds to help each other.

I had a dud DVD of Texlive and decided to use the

<div dir="auto">updated, rolling release version. Of course it had to be downloaded, that's not convenient for all. But it is an option that might sort you out. I don't Ubuntu, so I leave detailed help to others. Best wishes, Jay
