[UK-TUG] Rise in membership fee

To start discussion on membership fees going, I note that the font
project that we funded has not spent its grant, and when last asked,
did not foresee spending in the near future. That the committee last
year discussed whether it would be possible to get the money back.

The sum involved - about £2000 I believe - I have not checked the
minutes recently - equated approximately to a £10 membership
subscription for the current members.

I take the treasurer's point that, to have money for good TeX works,
we need to resume paying into the funds to cover outgoings.

However, if the font project is unable to make good use of the money,
I am loath to replace those funds from my own pocket. Is there some
way we can find out if the prospect of getting the money returned to
UKTUG is realistic - before voting closes?

if not, would an amendment to the motion suggesting one more year of
free subscriptions following the repayment of the font project funds
be of interest?

In practice. we should consider membership fees annually. So an
overriding financial consideration could always alter the meeting's
decision at the AGM before the fees/non-fees were imposed.

Comments and amendment wording would be welcomed.
