Hello fellow TeX user
The AGM of the UK TeX Users Group will take place on
Saturday 22nd November at 2pm
at
Physics and Astronomy, Room E7
University College London
London (walking distance from Euston)

We're planning a speaker/workshop meeting as part of the AGM day (to run
from 11am to 5pm).
Some UK TeXies spoke at TUG 2008 in Cork last month, and we've asked
them if they're willing to give their talks again (improved, of course).
Here are details of these TUG 2008 talks:
Dave Crossland: Why didn't METAFONT catch on?
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#crossland
Jonathan Fine: Why we need LaTeX 3
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#fine-latex3
Jonathan Fine: MathTran and TeX as a web service
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#fine-mathtran
Niall Mansfield: How to develop your own document class: our
experience
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#mansfield
Jonathan Kew: TeXworks: lowering the barrier to entry
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#kew
Joe McCool: A newbie's experiences with Lilypond, Lilypond-book,
LaTeX and Perl
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#mccool
Daniel Rhatigan: Three typefaces for mathematics
http://www.ucc.ie/en/tug2008/prog/booklet.html#rhatigan
If you'd like to talk at the AGM, or take part in or organise a
workshop, please let us know. We'll send another notice out in
September, which will also give information on standing for the
Committee and for Chair of UK TUG.
Best regards
