First, about TeX conferences. Various deadlines for the TUG'24 meeting
in Prague, July 19-21, are approaching. The conference web site:
https://tug.org/tug2024/

April 12 deadline for presentations (please send your proposal(s) asap!):
https://tug.org/tug2024/cfp.html

April 14 for hotel reservations at the conference rate:
https://tug.org/tug2024/#hotel

April 15 for early bird conference registration:
https://tug.org/tug2024/register.html

The conference will take place at the Hotel Grandior; only a few rooms
are available there, and they are relatively expensive. We have also
arranged for reserved rooms at two neighboring hotels at lower prices.

There will be a LaTeX developers' workshop on July 18; the topics will
generally be around tagged and accessible PDF, like last year. The
LaTeXers will attempt to adjust details according to requests; please
submit feedback on the registration form.
https://tug.org/tug2024/workshop.html

You can email tug2024@tug.org for any and all questions and comments
regarding the conference.
Other upcoming TeX meetings:
https://www.gust.org.pl/bachotex/2024-en

And second, about TeX software DVDs. TUG is coordinating a volunteer
effort to burn and mail DVDs on request, in lieu of sending DVDs to all
members. Information and a DVD request form are now available:
https://tug.org/dvd/

For those who can burn their own discs, links to ISO images are also on
that page. E.g., the TeX Live 2024 image is available here:
https://tug.org/texlive/acquire-iso.html

Additional volunteers to handle the burning and mailing are greatly
appreciated. Any questions, discussion, offers to help can be sent to
the mailing list texdvd@tug.org (it's not necessary to subscribe in
order to post).

Beginning this year, there will be no single image with all the software
distributions (TeX Live, MacTeX, MiKTeX, CTAN), because the total size
has exceeded the capacity of a dual-layer DVD.

Finally, for those in the North American northeast, the Ottawa Book Arts
Show will be held May 25 in the MacOdrum Library, Carleton University,
Ottawa, Canada. Many vendors and artists with all things book. They are
still accepting vendor requests (at no charge). This mailing list post
seems to be the most informative:

Happy \TeX{}ing,
Karl Berry, on behalf of the TUG Board
