RE: Travel to Hawaii via US Gateways
DT: Wednesday, February 5, 2003
Dear Friends of TeX and TUG 2003 Participants
We are looking forward to seeing you in Hawaii for the TUG 2003
Silver Jubilee Conference. (http://www.tug.org/tug2003/)
Please remember to register as soon as possible,
Deadline: April 19, 2003 for the group hotel discount rate.
which is valid for stays from July 16 - 24, 2003
at the newly renamed:
Waikoloa Beach Mariott, an Outrigger Resort.
A tentative list of speakers and presentations is at
http://www.tug.org/tug2003/presenters/
showing the range of topics and titles of talks, workshops, and posters.
Abstracts and a Program Schedule will be posted as soon as possible.
This should be a very interesting and exciting conference.
For travel via US gateways, it may be possible to arrange for a group
discount rate on airfares for US domestic travel to KOA (Kona
International Airport) Big Island, Hawaii with United Airlines.
Pricing is by zones ( e.g., Arizona, California, New York, Massachusetts,
Pennsylvania Oregon, Utah, Texas, Vermont, etc.).
The condition for obtaining a group discount rate is that at least 25
tickets must be sold to TUG 2003 participants, friends, and companions,
from anywhere in the USA to Kona (KOA) Airport
between the dates July 16 to July 28, 2003. All flights go through LAX or SFO.
The cost for California travel, for example, would be $600.00 USD at
present. (If regular fares go down, negotiations to lower the group rate
will be made.) Rates for other zones will vary.
At the time of booking the travel agent will check on
the *lowest* available fare and compare it with the group rate
to get you the best price.

interest.
