[tlu] Weird log message

This morning there were a series of updates, most of them about PSNFSS fonts (avantgar, bookman, courier, etc.). Probably minor updates -- some tiny support file somewhere -- of no consequence to the user.

At the end of the update TLU showed two messages in the Log window, which I don't remember seeing before:

The wording of these messages is confusing: does this mean it's bad I don't have a personal updmap.cfg in my home directory?

If "Automatically enable fonts in my home directory" was checked, I would understand: this would mean at the end of its run, after running updmap-sys for the updmap.cfg's in texmf-dist and texmf-local, then TLU tests for a personal updmap.cfg in the user's texmf and if found runs updmap for it.

But given this pref isn't checked, why the tests? (I may have enabled the pref at some point in the past for testing, but then disabled it again shortly afterwards.)
