[tldistro] TL ftp server requires authentication?

Hi,

I've just noticed that the FTP server where we (OpenBSD) get our
tarballs from (ftp://tug.org/historic/systems/texlive/) is now
(sometimes?) requiring authentication. This prevents the ports tree from
fetching the distfiles.

Is that deliberate? I had a brief look on the lists to see if it had
been announced, but didn't see anything...
