Hi Karl. I just read your email. I was replying when I noticed the changes removing that pesky trailing period had to be undone.

It's fine And I'm fine with it. If that's what works for you, so be it.

But (looking sideways right and left, up and down) how on earth am I supposed to go to read the documentation?

$0: The TeX Live versions of the local installation
and the repository being accessed are not compatible:
local: $TeXLive::TLConfig::ReleaseYear
repository: $texlive_release
Perhaps you need to use a different CTAN mirror?
(For more, see the output of install-tl --help, especially the
-repository option.  Online via https://tug.org/texlive/doc.)

Do I have to use a particular browser to read it with the appended period at the url?

All the browsers such as chromium and its derivatives, even firefox return a Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.

Is it a terminal based browser? e.g. lynx, elinks and so forth?

What else am I supposed to do when I try to access the link via another terminal like foot terminal or alacritty? Do I have to write the period by hand? I mean. By typing the keys on the keyboard and append the period to the end?

These are valid questions because I wouldn't know what else to do other than looking at a browser window, session, or tab or whatever that clearly says

The requested URL was not found on this server.
