Hi,

Just as a data point given the plethora of reported problems: the new
asy builds for me from within MacPorts after installing the new
dependency glm (https://glm.g-truc.net/0.9.9/index.html), of course
with the same caveats as Dick pointed out (OpenGL probably disabled
etc.)

This dependency could easily be added to the sources (it's header-only
library), either to TL directly, or manually when building it.

I did not yet try to build it outside yet.
