Folks,

Just to be sure, I tried compiling again. This time I noticed that configure printed the following:

OpenGL/gl.h usability... yes
checking OpenGL/gl.h presence... yes
checking for OpenGL/gl.h... yes
checking GLUT/glut.h usability... yes
checking GLUT/glut.h presence... yes
checking for GLUT/glut.h... yes
checking OpenGL/glew.h usability... no
checking OpenGL/glew.h presence... no
checking for OpenGL/glew.h... no
configure: *** Could not find libGLEW: will compile without OpenGL support ***
 
Thus Bowman's warning about glew holds, but it seems to be only one problem among many.
