Hi Ken,

absolutely correct.  The change occured between 0.18.4 and 0.19.0, so we
might require a sufficiently recent poppler version to be used a
system-xpdf.  However, the problem still is that we would like to be able to
build pdfTeX with xpdf-3.03 or with poppler-0.20.x!

I'll address this after the freeze.
