When installing[1] a recent 'pretest' and also this RC1, I have noticed 
that a new directory '.texlive2010' is created in the HOME of 'root'

Since I never use TL as 'root', I would ask if this new directory is to 
be expected for TL2010.

Besides this, before say a week ago, I did not notice any 
'~/.texlive2010', for 'root'. NOR a '~/.texlive2008' or '~/.texlive2009' 
for previous versions of TL.

So, is this a new thing to be expected for the upcoming TL2010? and what 
does it happen for a 'not-root' user? Of course, the installation 
produces '~/.texlive2010' only for 'root'..

Sincerely, it sounds strange to me that a 'system wide' installation 
produces 'local' (per user) 'effects' like this '~/.texlive2010', which 
'by definition' is a 'personal directory' (as described by 'install-tl' 
script).
