recently released a new stable version of TeXworks, 0.6.8. A big
thank you to everyone who has contributed and continues to
contribute to make TeXworks what it is.

Download links can be found as usual on <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://tug.org/texworks/">https://tug.org/texworks/</a>
(though it may take some time until all packages are updated by
their respective maintainers). <br>

<p>Many thanks for this, Stephan. Two problems with the hyperlink
content, tho' —</p>
<ol>
<li>If one visits <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://tug.org/texworks/">https://tug.org/texworks/</a>, one is offered "Get
TeXworks for Windows — version 0.6.8, 23.7MB". Unfortunately
this is not "TeXworks for Windows" <i>qua</i> Windows, it is
"TeXworks for Windows 10, and perhaps later". Some (myself
included), will need the version compatible with earlier
releases, "TeXworks-win7". For this, one has to follow the link
"(Feb 2023) TeXworks 0.6.8 released (Get it | Changes)", but
that is not clear from the prose.<br>
<br>
</li>
<li>If one follows the link "(Feb 2023) TeXworks 0.6.8 released
(Get it | Changes)", one is taken to
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://tug.org/texworks/#Getting_TeXworks">https://tug.org/texworks/#Getting_TeXworks</a>, from which one can
follow a further link "Microsoft Windows: <a
href="https://github.com/TeXworks/texworks/releases">TeXworks</a>
installer" which takes one to
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://github.com/TeXworks/texworks/releases">https://github.com/TeXworks/texworks/releases</a>. Therein one
finds TeXworks-win7-setup-0.6.8-202302181307-git_6b1c6ab.exe,
but if one runs that as Administrator, TeXworks is installed
into C:\Program files (x86)\TeXworks with no option as to the
installation location. Only by downloading
TeXworks-win7-0.6.8-202302181307-git_6b1c6ab.zip can one obtain
a version of TeXworks compatible with Windows 7 and installable
in the users' preferred location.</li>
</ol>
<p>It might be helpful if notes to this effect could be added to the
primary download page, <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://tug.org/texworks/">https://tug.org/texworks/</a>.</p>
