[texworks] PDF previewer in TeXWorks 0.6.2 does not see some images - shows either nothing (a white block?) or a black block

In our production we were running 0.6.1 and I tried today 0.6.2. Some of the images encapsulated into pdf show either nothing, or a black block. “Proper” vector PDF looks OK. What went wrong? In 0.6.1. it looks perfectly OK.
