[texworks] new PDF previewer code : is it solved ?

There was a fix regarding a deadlock when loading annotations a while
back - see https://github.com/TeXworks/texworks/issues/746.
If you want, you can get the latest development version for Mac (which
should be very stable at the moment) from
https://bintray.com/texworks/OSX-latest/TeXworks-for-Mac%3Alatest/view.
