sorry about that bug - it was a misplaced "is this a debug build?"
check. I fixed it (and a few other things) - builds are currently processed.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Mac to build on. But there are
instructions at
https://github.com/TeXworks/texworks/wiki/Building-on-Mac-OS-X-%28Homebrew%29
on how to build your own Mac binaries, although I'm not sure how
difficult/lengthy it is in practice to set everything up...
