[texworks] hyperlinks

Hi Alain,
That's what I'm trying to do.
I called the package hyperref as the last one in the preamble as
reported below:
\usepackage[colorlinks,urlcolor=cyan,citecolor=red]{hyperref}
\begin{document}
......
I managed to make email addresses as hyperlinks as following:
\href{mailto:mailaddress}{mailaddress}
Instead, there are some other hyperlinks I was not able to create (I
suppose I'm using the wrong intructions):
1) citations (they are shown in red in the pdf file but are not
available as hypertext). I just used:
\cite{reference}
2) \href{url}{text}
Likewise citations, the text I use is shown in cyan but is not
available as hyperlink (the url is not opened).
3) \href{file}{text}
Also in this case the text I use is shown in cyan but no file (I put
the latter in the same folder where tex file is) is opened when I
click onto it.
I have to specify that the codes I reported refer to TeXniccenter
cause I still do not get any pdf file from TeXworks. By the way, do
instructions related to hyperlinks (and also other types of commands)
generally apply to both editors?
Thanks.
Regards,
Antonio
