Hi,

"Short" is only to say that the manual is not long, not that 
it is an abbreviated manual.

Your question relating mathematics is a LaTeX question, not 
a question on the use of TeXworks.
As suggested, see a manual on LaTeX, and lshort is a good 
start. It is in your TeX distribution in
[your distribution folder]\doc\latex\lshort-english
or in another for a version in another language .
