[texworks] pdflatex produces a dvi file rather than a pdf file

Dir TeXworks folk,

       I am using  TeXworks with MiKTeX.  I recently updated my 64-bit 
MiKTeX (including the version of TEXworks) from the MiKTeX homepage.  As 
a result,  typesetting with  pdflatex via TeXworks now produces a  dvi  
file rather than a pdf file.  This is not the result I desire.  What 
changes do I need to make to address this?

PS:  I have been using TeX since 1985 and TeXworks is the best front end 
I have encountered.  Thanks for making it!
