Hi,

thanks a lot for the valuable information. I tried to put it all
together into a small guide. If it works, I'll post it on GC, but first
I need people to test it.

So far, there isn't much text, but mainly the raw instructions. Partly,
this is because I don't know what problems might occur that should be
pointed out, and partly due to time constraints. So please don't feel
offended by a simple "Run:" instead of something more elaborate/polite ;).

I've added several [TODO:]s. A few are just reminders for me, but most
are actually tasks (such as figuring out if subversion is included in
XCode). So if you can answer some questions or comment on some points,
this would be very much appreciated.

Also note that ideally, this should be tested on systems that have seen
as little development as possible, simply because that ensures that
there are not dozens of tools and libraries installed that could be
required but absent on vanilla systems.

So, if you have some time, please give it a try. For now, the primary
goal for this is to end up with a guide that works for individual
systems. I.e., everyone should be able to follow this guide to end up
with a personal build that works on the Mac it was built on. For now, I
think that getting universal distributables done is a long way away.

Regards,
Stefan
