[texworks] Buggy character checking in proxy authentication dialog (doesn't allow a dot) (fwd)

I just realized that the MiKTeX installer as well as the MiKTeX package 
manager both allow to enter a dot in the user name edit field.

So, it is - if I am not mistaken - only TeXWorks itself which doesn't seem 
to handle this correctly when downloading a package on demand during 
latexing a document.
