Dear Schremmer,
What version and revision of Tw are you using please?
(Help/About)
For a while now it has been possible to set the default action on Edit
/ Preferences / Typesetting -- using the drop-down box at the bottom
of that tab.
Alain Delmotte has also prepared an excellant manual, available from
the Help menu in all recent relases.
"A short manual for TEXworks"
He lists some useful information there under,
``3.4 Changing TEXworks parameters for convenience
...
``From the Typeset menu or from the drop-down on the Typesetting tool
bar, you can change the compilation format. Again this change will
only be temporary.
``To have permanent changes, you need to change the Preferences
through the Edit/ Preferences… menu, using the Editor tab for the font
and Typesetting tab for the compilation format: the default format is
at the bottom of the tab (let’s choose pdfLaTex for this one).''
I hope that this helps,
Paul
