Thanks for working on this, Stefan.

Actually, what Karl sent was not the same as the copy in svn. I had
done some minor updates a few days ago, to reflect the fact that we
had a stable release out, but I had failed to update the copy in svn;
sorry!

Anyhow, I have merged your changes with the edits I'd done previously,
and posted the updated version on TUG and also checked in to svn.
You're right, it should be in sync; that was my fault for editing it
directly on tug.org the other day.

I agree that the current page is quite "utilitarian", and I think a
friendlier and more attractive "TeXworks Home Page" would be great.
Design ideas welcome! :)
