Actually it's not the same for graphics. You don't want to have photos
(in final PDF) in vector format.

Inspecting icons on Mac, I would say that maybe Qt and Firefox are
from vector format (carefully prepared), but the rest most probably
comes from high-resolution bitmap graphics.

In the spirit of other comments just a thought ... CM/LM comes with N
design sizes + careful hinting.

The problem is that I like the first version more than the second one
... If everyone is satisfied with svg version, conversion to TikZ
should be straightforward.
