Well, the large version would actually need a lot of fine-tuning,
texturing and modeling to make it look like metal, etc. But that can be
left for a later time ;).

Good ideas. I attached the new versions.
The "changelog":
 * Moved the T down a bit. It doesn't really show on the icon-sized
versions, but it does for the 480 pixel size.
 * Turned up the fill light, i.e. made the shadows less pronounced. Does
help a little bit, though of course it's again most pronounced in the
large version
 * Made the ink blue (btw, I'm glad it could be recognized as ink ;)). I
used the "navy" color (#000080) that's also in use on the tug webpage.
If "TeXbook blue" is actually a different color I can change that easily
if you send me rgb or hsv values. I think it adds a nice touch of color
to the whole thing.

Now the "T" is also better discernible even at 16x16px (not that you
could tell what all the rest is supposed to be at less than 32 or even
48, but so what ;)).
