Howdy,

That's the wonderful thing about TeXShop. You can start easy and the ``fancy'' features are there as you wish to use them---or not.

Personally I use Key Bindings, Command Completion and Macros all the time. The nice thing is that even with those features you can start out with just a few items and expand your use as you wish.

And if you want to learn a bit about those features as well as others that you might find useful take a look at the Help->TeXShop Tips and Tricks and Help->TeXShop Feature Confusion documents.
