On thinking about it, there was once a far more informed and
authoritative figure at OUP who would be in a position to advise on
this and related matters, and that is the Printer to the University,
a position formerly held by the late <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/vivian-ridler-printer-to-oxford-university-from-1958-to-1978-and-founder-of-the-perpetua-press-1332043.html">Vivian
Ridler</a>. Sadly the post was left vacant (or, more likely,
abolished) on Vivian's death, and I have no idea whether the Press
now employs anyone of even near-comparable expertise.<br>
