For heaven's sake, do you really need this deprecated package?  It
loads Helvetica and Courier without adapting their sizes.  All these
fonts are incompatible per se, even when scaled properly.

Try

  texdoc wordlike

and you'll see immediately that these fonts can't be used in one and
the same document.  I assume that the wordlike package scales the
fonts appropriately at least, but doubt that the times package does
anything useful in this respect.

And do you really want to use such an ugly font in your presentation?

Using Times in a presentation is as awful as converting vector
graphics to JPEG. 

My favorite font for presentations is CharisSIL

  http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=charissilfont

but it requires either xelatex or lualatex.  And

  texdoc fontspec

is unavoidable.
