Sorry, the \displaystyle is redundant : it was left over
from an earlier dysfunctional hypothesis.  The suggestion
should read :

	Leibniz notation: $\vcenter {\hfuzz = \hsize \hsize = 0 pt $${\rm d}f \over {\rm d}x$$}$
