You're quite right. Since fontinstallationguide is still related to fontinst, I
actually just changed the score for this alias, so that it stays in the result
list, but at the end (output of texdoc -l fontinst, modified):

 1 TLROOT/texmf-dist/doc/fonts/fontinst/manual/fontinst.pdf
 2 TLROOT/texmf-dist/doc/fonts/fontinst/manual/intro98.pdf
 3 TLROOT/texmf-dist/doc/fonts/fontinst/talks/et99-font-tables.pdf
 4 TLROOT/texmf-dist/doc/fonts/fontinst/talks/et99-font-tutorial.pdf
 5 TLROOT/texmf/doc/man/man1/fontinst.man1.pdf
 6 TLROOT/texmf-dist/doc/fonts/Type1fonts/fontinstallationguide.pdf

I'm glad, because I was lacking an example of alias(<score>) to put in the
default cnf file :-)
