Simple answer: why not? If there is someone interested, let them invest
their time and energy, even if you don't use it.</pre>
</blockquote>
<p>Two points — 1) I asked why <i><b>Naveen</b></i> claimed "it
would be good to have a Chocolatey Package [for TeX Live]", not
why <i><b>you </b></i>feel is is. 2) IMHO it is far better to
challenge someone at the outset if you think that they may be
mistaken, rather than leave their assertions unchallenged. Ask
yourself "what is the probability that anyone other than Naveen
will ever use a Chocolatey package to install TeX Live", and I
think you will find that the answer if "few if any". Far better,
then, to try to gently steer Naveen away from what is likely to
prove a complete waste of time rather than tacitly encourage her
to waste her valuable time producing something in which there is
likely to be little or no interest.<br>

<p>No you are not, Norbert. You know that, I know that, every
reader of this list knows that, so why waste your time posturing
? If you had bothered to read what I had written, rather than
just quote phrases out of context, you would have seen that I
wrote "[...] would you not agree that if the current installer is
sub-optimal then the obvious alternative [...] would be to
re-write the installer as an MSI ("Microsoft Installer") file".
Note in particular "<i><b>if the current installer is
sub-optimal".</b></i></p>

<p>Maybe, Norbert, you really need to learn to read. The reference
to uninstalling was clearly a response to Naveen's "The main issue
I face with the current installer is that it doesn't have an
uninstaller. Creating an MSI would be nice and yes if it is done
then creating the package would be as simple as installing that
MSI". Note that it was <i><b>Naveen</b></i> who claimed that the
current installer does not have an uninstaller, not I.</p>
