<p>Today, the tlmgr update failed due to missing permission, the
update-tlmgr-latest.exe worked, but then I get this error:</p>

<p>I did the following to remedy the situation: <br>
loaded the pretest distribution (-macos 4GB) on my desktop. <br>
re-installed texlive2020 from there<br>
and waited for the first update to go on smoothly.</p>
<p>Re-installing from my own desktop if necessary will be faster by
several hours. <br>
